Singer/songwriter
Rich Kubicz grew up in the small suburban town of Union, New Jersey. In
the late 70's, Rich discovered his adoration for music after listening to
classic rock bands such as Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling
Stones. He admired each one of these bands for different reasons. Queen
for its showmanship, Floyd for the depth of lyrics, Zeppelin for it's musicianship
and The Stones for their pop savvy
melody. Yet each one of these bands also had something in common that that
Rich took note of. Although each band had their own individual styles, their
music was presented from album to album utilizing a plethora of musical
eclecticism. Whether it's Blues, Acoustic, Folk, Country or Hard Rock, each
band was able to master each genre in their own right to become every man's
hero.
Rich
began playing the guitar at the age of nine using old country guitar books
with the guide of chord charts found within the pages. His parents finally
got sick of listening to Home on the Range so they got him formal lessons
at the age of eleven. By the time he was 16, Rich was playing what he
wanted to and also got into writing his own music. |
Rich met Adrienne Miller at a club one night in Plainfield, New Jersey. They would be married four years later in the Spring of 1995. While Adrienne planned the wedding, Rich had some plans of his own. Adrienne's daughter Lindsay was three when they met and for the wedding, Rich wrote 2 songs that he performed at the wedding for the girls. The song "For Lindsay" was the first time Rich performed one of his tunes to a packed house. It was said that the waitresses at the wedding had tears in their eyes. In 1996, Rich entered Electric reels studios in Pleasant Valley, N.Y. to record "For Lindsay". The session went well so he put together a tape of 4 track recordings of nine more songs, brought together some very talented musicians and over the course of quite a few years, finally finished recording the album Echo Lake. Echo Lake will be available for sale by late May 2005. |
