sound This song has a foundation of the Urban Cowboy sound in its very thoughtout arrangement. Has a busy sound. Acounstic and piano and fiddle jammin out the rhythm together and jumping out to grab a fill and right back to the rythm groove. The singing doesnt fit this Urban Cowboy like band style - in fact he takes this sound and somehow has created somewhat of an alternative rock -maybe a remote like Beatles style of singing and together....You have a Unigue and original sounding country group. -I like the sound. Reminds me of like a Charlie Daniels - meets Mickey Gilley sound happening instumentally. Song has alot of energy and great things going on in it. The vocals are articulate understandable - even with the multilayering or possibly 40 millisecond dellay and layed thick. Its a a cool sound. Its stays consistenient throughout. Different from the urban cowboy singers who mostly relied on heavy reverb for vox. The Piano player in this tune is phenomenal. He lays down tastey chops all over the place. (THIS DESERVES THE BEST KEYBOARD WORK - Its one of the best standout piano performances Ive heard yet on GB) The other instruments are excellent. The piano has a couple moments that stood out magically. Lyrics are clear and straight forward in a consistant phrasing that make the song catchy. Crazy story - crazy playing. Arrangement and performance fits the storyline. This is a well put together tune - It might be alittle busy in spots - but I'd be splitting hairs - its a great tune. Reviewed by: CCStewart from Urbandale, Iowa As seen on GarageBand.com |
